Personal Profile

Dr Gang Liu earned his  PhD in knowledge and technology management and MSc in knowledge management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In 2007-2012, Dr Liu worked at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd and was responsible for sales and marketing related tasks of passive optical network products. In 2011, he was assigned to the Western European regional office, in Dusseldorf, Germany and had charge of passive optical network products market development projects of Western Europe. With collective efforts of his project teams, Huawei passive optical network products successfully entered the Western European markets, and Huawei becomes an important partner of well-known telecom operators in Western Europe for passive optical network project implementation, e.g., Telefonica de Espana, Italian Telecom. He also obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate.

Dr Liu’s research area covers knowledge management and organisational performance, innovation and entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural management.
